How to apply, step by step
- 1
Check your country is a partner
Only countries with a bilateral agreement participate, and quotas differ by country.
- 2
Apply to the sending partner too
Your own country's designated body must nominate you; this is a separate process.
- 3
Choose two programme preferences
You may list two; choose one realistic and one aspirational.
- 4
Complete the online application
Upload every document in the required format; incomplete files are rejected.
- 5
Prepare for an entrance exam
Many programmes hold online interviews or written tests after shortlisting.

Apply to more than one
Even outstanding applicants are rejected for reasons outside their control, quotas, country allocations, a stronger field that year. Shortlist three or four awards you genuinely qualify for and apply to all of them.
